In a radio interview this evening I challenged Matthew Ellis, the Police and Crime Commissioner for Staffordshire, about his inability to respond to correspondence that I have sent to is office raising concerns of local constituents.
Mr Ellis flatly denied having received any such correspondence. While I cannot disclose details of individual cases, I am happy to publish a letter I sent him some time ago raising concerns about the closure of Tunstall Police Station, to which I have yet to receive a response. I am also choosing to highlight a further letter I sent to Mr Ellis raising my concerns at this continued lack of action. Please click here to read.
I am extremely disappointed that Mr Ellis has used a serious debate about the future of policing in our communities to disparage the work of elected representatives and their staff.
