Concerns about the postal vote administration in Little Chell & Stanfield

Ruth Smeeth has tonight (21st April 2015) written to the Chief Executive of Stoke-on-Trent City Council to make a formal complaint about the administration of the postal votes in the Little Chell & Stanfield.

Ruth has asked for Mr Van de Laarschot to respond to the following points as a matter of urgency:

1.What investigations are being made to ensure that postal vote ballots in all other wards are legitimate and not subject to the same administrative error?

2. What processes are in place to ensure that this failure does not continue in the second tranche of postal vote mailings?

3. What internal procedures are you undertaking to determine who is responsible for these catastrophic failings in Little Chell & Stanfields ward, and who will be found accountable for it?

4. What steps will you personally be taking to address the undermining of public trust in the election process and in your council?

5. What reviews will be undertaken after the election to ensure debacles such as this do not happen in the future?
