Stoke-on-Trent Welcomes Prince Charles

Prince Charles

I was delighted to welcome HRH Prince Charles to my constituency today to show him some of the excellent work that The Princes Regeneration Trust has done in the restoration of Middleport Pottery and to open their Prince of Wales Studios. This building is the largest project the trust has undertaken to date and has been a fantastic success. Not only is it a beautifully restored pot bank, it has also put our city on the map recently as the venue for BBC show The Great British Throwdown.

His Royal Highness also visited Burslem School of Art to see the next phase of the Sixth Form Academy, and visited the Wedgwood Institute to see the first phase of the restoration work.

I was particularly thrilled that children from local charity Beanstalks, which I have been supporting this year, got the opportunity to meet the Prince as part of the visit.
